CAPE VERDE Islands Map

Sao Vicente
Sao Vicente is the second most populous island of Cape Verde. The island boasts great sunshine and historical landmarks especially the great sea port of Mindelo. Its main industries are now tourism.

Sal
Sal is the oldest island in Cape Verde, now based on tourism (amounting to 50% of the archipelago's tourism) at the beach resort of Santa Maria. 
Boa Vista
Boa Vista has extensive unspoiled white sanded beaches. The island gives the appearance of being one huge sand dune.

Santo Antao
Santo Antao is the western most and largest of the Barlavento islands of Cape and the continent of Africa, and the second largest in Cape Verde Verde.

São Nicolau
São Nicolau was first inhabited in the sixteenth century, it is known for its mountains and for its main town, Ribeira Brava, long the seat of the Cape Verde diocese.

Santiago
The most african in culture, the island of Santiago is the largest of the Cape Verde islands. Santiago is the largest of the Cape Verde Islands with an area of 991 sq km and is home to half the nation’s population. It is also home to the nation’s capital city of Praia which has the biggest urban centre of the country.

Fogo
Fogo is one of the tallest, steepest and most active oceanic island volcanoes on Earth showing many historic eruptions and a giant tsunamogenic flank collapse in recent times.

Maio
Maio continues to be a quiet island with little tourism and an extense interior.

Brava
Brava never had tourism but it has slowly boomed. The only beach on the island is located at Faja d'Agua. This beach is a black beach with volcanic sand.
